Board Certified Allergist

An allergist is a physician specially trained to manage and treat allergies and asthma. An allergist certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology graduates with an M.D., undergoes a full three-year residency in internal medicine or pediatrics. They subsequently undergo an additional 2-3 year fellowship in adult and pediatric allergy, and finally pass a comprehensive American Board of Allergy and Immunology examination, which is no small task.

The allergists at Allergy Asthma Associates of Tri-State (AAATS) maintain their board certification in allergy and immunology with a comprehensive ABAI-sponsored on-going program and re-certify every 10 years. As you can see the medical expertise and training are continuously updated to have the best possible treatment in the Evansville area.

Because of this extensive training and experience in allergic illnesses, an allergist certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology is very well qualified to manage the entire spectrum of allergic, asthmatic and immunologic conditions in all age groups. Studies show that those patients taken care of by an allergist/immunologist certified by the ABAI also have fewer emergency room visits and have better controlled allergies and/or asthma.
